Temporarily Shutting Down

Well, we've been expecting this for quite some time, but now it's finally happened.  The Edison Tech Center and ECBR must vacate the building at 136 North Broadway that you've been visiting every Thursday night for our open shop.

ECBR has until May 29 to completely clear the premises, and because of the efforts involved in moving out and storing all of our stuff, we will no longer be holding Thursday night open shop hours, effective this Thursday, May 10.

We plan to honor our scheduled off-site commitments to neighborhoods, libraries, and other organizations, to the best of our ability, so no worries there.

We'd like to thank the Edison Tech Center for hosting us, pretty much for free, for the past 4 years.  We'd also like to thank all of you for your support and good times.  We're not going away, and see this as only a temporary setback.  We will be back!

ECBR is an all-volunteer community bike shop, and has become an important resource for residents in and around Schenectady the last 4 years.  We have been bringing folks together from a variety of different backgrounds every week to work on bikes, and hope to continue our work in the community just as soon as we can find a new space.

So, we need your help.  If you know of any person or organization that may have space available to host ECBR, please let us know.  Hopefully, with the support of the community we can keep things rolling at ECBR.

Stay tuned here and to our Facebook page for all of the latest news.
